Why Revere exists.

Revere is an Australian company founded and run by Ross Simon and David Chinn.

Why we built it

We both emigrated to Australia from South Africa when we were five years old. The distance quietly cost us our grandparents: we grew up not knowing them, their stories were never recorded, and when they passed away, most of what they carried went with them.

Two years ago we both noticed the same thing. The people who told us the stories that shaped us were running out of time to tell them. One of us had already lost the chance with his father. The other watched it slipping with his.

We made Revere so fewer families have the gap we have.

The mission

To preserve life stories for the benefit of future generations.

One principle guides everything we make: the finished story must be one the teller is proud of, and proud to share. It shapes every decision in the product; it is why every sentence in a finished memoir traces back to something the storyteller actually said, why they approve every chapter before anything ships, and why nothing leaves their hands without their say-so.

Trust

A life story is the most personal thing a family will ever hand over, and holding it safely is the core of this business, not a feature of it. Stories live in private, encrypted storage in Australia. Nothing sits on a public link. The storyteller decides who sees what, and can have any of it, or all of it, deleted with one email.
